FAQ's

When can I start classes?
New courses commence every 4 weeks on Tuesday and Thursday Evenings. You must make a booking for the course. Please refer to our next course start date and contact us to make your booking.

How do I make a booking?
You can make a booking online, or email or call us at the following contacts.
info@clubsalsa.com.au or 0406 955 447
To make a booking all we require is a name and some contact information for you and each of your friends who are coming along.

Do I have to attend the same class every week?
Yes. Our courses run for 8 consecutive weeks so that all the students can progress at the same time. The Classes on Tuesdays are 4 weeks staggered from the Thursday night, therefore are not interchangeable.

Do I have to attend a fixed "term" of classes?
Yes. Our courses during the week run for 8 consecutive weeks. However you can choose to come casually to our nighclub venue classes.

Can I try a class before I commit to the whole course?
No. Because of the course format, we prefer students not “trial” classes casually as this can affect the balance of numbers. We recommend our nightclub casual classes if you would like to trial a Salsa lesson.

Do I have to pay any money in advance?
Yes. For ease of administration we ask that students pay for the courses on the first day of the course. This allows us to balance numbers in the weeks following and offer some great additional benefits as well.

I have no dance experience, will I be able to cope?
Absolutely! We will teach you from absolute basics. If you are a slower learner, you can join the casual classes each week to supplement your course. We also offer half-price repeats for returning students to complete a beginner or intermediate course for a second time.

I have some dance experience, which level should I start?
We always recommend that students start at the beginner level, however we can also recommend a couple of private lessons with our experienced instructors to fast track you to the next level.

How long will it take me to learn?
You should start feeling confident within about 5 lessons and we find most students are confident to move to the next class level at the end of the 8 week course. We encourage you to come along to our causal classes to get you freedancing even quicker.

What do I wear?
Most people come to our classes straight after work, so comfortable smart casual clothing is fine.

What would be appropriate footware?
Comfortable evening shoes for men & comfortable heels women, with a smooth sole (leather or resin) is perfect. Try and avoid rubber soled shoes and sneakers, and in all cases we recommend shoes that strap the foot into the shoe for propper ankle support.

Do I need to bring a partner?
No. Advance bookings enable us to balance the numbers quite well – so no need to bring a partner.

Will I feel intimidated?
Not at all. There will be people there just like you - who want to learn and have a great time!

Will I dance with the same person all the time?
No. The class is rotated regularly so you get to dance with different people.

I have two left feet!
No problem!... We'll help you find that missing right foot!

If I can’t continue with a course, can I get a refund?
We don’t offer refunds on course fees after the course starts. However we are quite flexible, by allowing students to transfer their fees to future courses.

Is There Parking near the venue?
Our courses are held in the Pyrmont area. There is plenty of on-street metered parking available.
